Review: Urban Decay Naked Basics & Swatches

Let me start by saying that I don’t own the other NAKED palettes. I never felt compelled to buy them…with that being said as soon as I laid my eyes on this NAKED Basics palette , I knew I had to have it.

It comes with six gorgeous shades, all matte except for Venus which is meant to be a highlight shade. They are highly pigmented, silky smooth and super easy to work with. They are also the same size as the shadows in the other NAKED pallets but fit into this wonderfully small package that couldn’t be more perfect for traveling!

I have used this every single day since I got it. It’s perfect to use for a daytime subtle look and it easily creates a beautiful smokey nighttime look too. I love love love Venus for an inner-corner & brow bone highlight– I usually use W.O.S all over the lid and use Naked 2 in the crease which looks super natural. Then I’ll take Faint and line my upper lash line with it and use Crave if I want to go for a more smokey look. Foxy is my least used shade, but it could be used all over the eyelid instead of W.O.S. .

This is easily one of my most used pallets and I highly recommend it! If you have the other NAKED pallets then you don’t need to buy this pallet unless you want everything in one perfect little package for traveling.

Do you have this pallet? What do you think about it?

  1. I have a bad habit of saving the thing I most want for last and this isn’t an exception to that rule. I purchased all 3 naked eyeshadow palettes for my birthday last month and I haven’t even touched this one because I have this haunting thought that as soon as I do, I’ll love it and won’t use anything else. Hahaha. Luckily, the other 2 have matte shades in them too. You should post photos of your looks, I’d be interested in seeing them!

    • I’m the opposite, it’s hard for me to keep my hands off something as soon as I get it! It is such a great little palette, I’d love to know what you think once you get around to using it. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try to put up a picture today or tomorrow. x

  2. I like this matte colors in this pallete, but I’m not sure it worth this money:/ I wanted Naked 2 or Naked basic, but now as I found some similar a little cheaper variants I can’t decide. The palletes I choosed are also very cool, but you know a feeling to keep a cool pallete in hands:D Everyone who is into beauty blogs wants or owns the urban decay pallete 😀 it’s like a must in wishes:)

    • I actually don’t own the other two Naked pallets, I only own the basics. It really is up to what you’re preferences are! They’re all great quality pallets, but I particularly like the Basics one because it’s primarily Matte and has everything I need. Plus it’s perfect for traveling! Let me know what you decide! x
