My Favorite Makeup Brushes

Favorite Makeup Brushes

I was recently nominated for the Sunshine Award, and I was asked what my favorite makeup brushes were… since I have quite a few favorites, I decided it would be better to do a post on them instead.

Favorite Makeup Brushes

I’m fully aware that I’ve picked out far more than just a few brushes, but I seriously love them and feel they deserved some recognition.

Favorite Makeup Brushes 5

Eye & Brow (L-R):

Sigma E30 Pencil Brush– I use this for applying eyeshadow on my lower lash line to help define my eyes.

EcoTools Eyeliner Brush – This is a multi-use one for me– I either use it to line my upper lash line or if I’m filling in my brows with powder.

Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush – I always keep this clean and use it as the last step to make sure everything is blended.

Sigma E25 Blending Brush – This is a dupe for the MAC 217 (which I might break down and buy anyway), but it works wonderfully and is pretty much the only eyeshadow brush I use (I have two and clean them all the time). I have the Real Techniques Shading Brush which I supplement this with if I am doing any precise application, but the E25 is perfect for my everyday eye makeup.

Real Techniques Lash-Brow Groomer – I use this to brush through my brows before I define them, and once again after, just to make sure everything is well blended and in place.

Base (top-bottom):

Real Techniques Contour Brush (Part of the Core Collection) – I’m new to contouring but this brush makes it super easy! I also find it really good at blending concealer.

Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush – This is just fantastic for foundation and gives an almost air-brushed effect.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – This too is just as incredible at working in foundation AND it’s about half the price of the F80.

Real Techniques Duo Fiber Contour Brush (part of the Limited Edition Duo Fiber Collection) – I use this when I want a really light layer or if I’m working with a really pigmented blush, bronzer or highlighter. This again is a good multi-use brush and because it’s duo-fiber, it gives you a nice light layer, so you never have to worry about applying too much.

Blush & Bronzer (L-R):

Real Techniques Blush Brush – This one is a little obvious– I use it to apply blush, but it’s also great at applying bronzer.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush – I use this when I’m wearing cream blush because it makes it super easy to apply and blends it in perfectly!

Real Techniques Multi Task Brush (part of the Travel Essentials) – This is perfect for powder, blush, and bronzer– this brush really lives up to it’s name.

So I know that I listed quite a few brushes and no, you don’t need every single one– but as I said earlier, I think they’re all really wonderful.

Do you use any of these? What’s your favorite makeup brush?

Happy Friday everyone!! x

  1. Whoa, what a collection! I’d like to try the Sigma E25 Blending Brush. I clicked on your link to go to their website, and I can’t believe all the different type of brushes they have! 😉
