Maybelline Color Elixir — Review & Swatches

Maybelline Color Elixirs

On most days, when it comes to what’s on my lips, it has to be something that’s simple to apply, has nice pigmentation, wears evenly, and looks great. A sort of all-in-one…is that asking too much? Maybe, but with the new Maybelline Color Elixirs, I think I’ve found my perfect product.

Maybelline Color Elixer Breathtaking Apricot

OK, so what makes these so special? They’re a new hybrid product that packs all the different lip products perks into one. You get the pigmentation of a lipstick, the shine of a gloss, and the moisturizing benefits of a balm all in one beautiful little package.

Maybelline Color Elixer Swatches

I picked up Breathtaking Apricot and Mandarin Rapture which as you can see in the swatches are a beautiful warm pink and a vibrant orange. They’re easy to apply, go on evenly, don’t feel sticky or tacky, and hang around for 3 or 4 hours. As if that wasn’t good enough, I’m in love with the way these feel on my lips. They go on so smoothly and feel so unique– almost like a gel. I don’t have one other lip product that feels the same and at $8.99 a tube, they are definitely well worth the price– and even cheaper at Target I think.

Have you tried these? What do you think?

  1. Every time I hear about these, they remind me of my favorite L’Oreal Color Riche liquid lipsticks, I bet they’re incredibly similar. Anyways, don’t you just love when you find a product like this and wonder how you got by without it? Those are really pretty shades you found!

    • I haven’t tried the L’Oreal ones and I think I’ve got to cut myself off from buying anymore lip products for a while– I’ve got waaayyyy too many 😀

  2. I might pick one of these up — I’ve been hearing good things about them and the colors are so nice!
