Me and MAC go way back. It was their eye shadows that first got me into makeup, and I’ve been trying out a lot of what they have to offer over the years. They have soo many products and are constantly releasing new collections, but I thought I focus on the products that I would gladly repurchase. If you’re new to MAC or are just looking for some recommendations, here’s what’s I think it well worth picking up!
1. MAC Eye shadows $15 in container, $10 in pan – Like I said they’re eye shadows are what got me really into makeup in the fist place. With the huge selection of colors and the insanely wonderful quality of these, they definitely are well worth picking up. I did a post on my Top 10 MAC Eye shadows which you can find here if you’re interested.
2a. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer $19- This stuff is just incredible. It has some kind of magic power which prevents creasing, lasts all day, and sits beautifully. It’s quite medium to full coverage, so you only need a little bit. What makes this even better is that you can use it as an eyeshadow primer too! If you have super oily eyelids, then it may not work well for you…but still it’s worth a try. Who doesn’t love a mufti-purpose product?
2b. MAC Studio Finish Concealer $18- I really recommend this concealer because it’s got you covered on all bases. It does dark circles, blemishes, discoloration, and even tattoos or birthmarks! It’s also water-resistant, has broad-spectrum SPF 35, and you only need a little bit of this as well as it’s super opaque.
3. MAC Lipstick $16 – I still remember the feeling I had when I purchased my first MAC lipstick. I was soo giddy and l just stared at it admiring the gorgeous sleek black pearlescent packaging for ages. Well, for as long as I could resist before putting it on. Anyway, yes $16 is less than ideal to pay for a lipstick, but like with most of MAC’s products, they’re amazing qulity and well worth the price. I especially love Peach Blossom, a beautiful peachy nude and Syrup, a pinky purple. Both are easy everyday shades that you can apply and go.
4 MAC Pro Longwear Paintpot $20 – My go to is Painterly, a wonderful nude eyeshadow base that is absolutely perfect for prepping your eyelids and helping eye shadows to last longer and look better. I picked this one because it’s something I can use everyday, but I want to try either Constructivist (a beautiful reddy bronze) or Vintage (“dirty peach”) next.
5. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish $32- Specifically in Soft & Gentle. It’s a gorgeous golden peachy bronze highlight and a cult product for a reason. I won’t go into too much detail about it since I did a full review of it here…but I will say it’s absolutely worth it if you love the glowing-from-within look AND it lasts absolute ages.
Have you tried any of these?
I have a few MAC things I’d like to pick up eventually, but I’d love to hear if you have any recommendations for me!
