Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss – Review & Swatches

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss

I’m having a bit of a moment with glosses, can you tell? Today we’re talking about the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Glosses, which I’ve been reaching for quite a lot since I first got them. Ulta has these at $3.49, so I was worried they may be discontinued… but I checked and other retailers are carrying them online, but I’m not sure about in stores. Either way you can still pick them up and I highly recommend that you do!

OK so what’s so great about these? They’re a fantastic light and natural gloss that leaves your lips with a nice hint of pigment without any gloop or mess. With these glosses, I usually apply it with the applicator and then run a (clean!) finger over my lips and I’m left with a natural look that I honestly can’t get enough of. Oh and did I mention, these aren’t sticky or tacky at all!

I originally picked up Almond Crush when I was in the States which is a really nice pale and slightly frosted pinky nude and loved it so much I picked up two more. Luminous Latte is a more traditional brown-nude and Captivating Coral, as the name would suggest, is a bold coral. I really like them all, but I think Luminous Latte is my favorite of the trio.

Bonus: Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup swears these are a very close dupe to the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors, which I’ve wanted to try but probably  won’t now. So if you’re had your eye on the Clarins ones, but haven’t bought them because of the price tag, at around $7 you can get 3 of these for the price of one Clarins gloss.

These have a huge shade range and although I should probably stop with the three I’ve already got, I’ve also got my eye on One Shine Day (a nice rose) and Gleaming Grenadine (a pink grapefruit).

Have you tried any of these? What’s your favorite drugstore gloss?
