The Toner Lineup

The Toner Lineup

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m not only a makeup collector, but I’m also a skincare enthusiast. Toners are sometimes looked over or forgotten when it comes to our skincare routines, but I use one morning and night and they truly do make a noticeable difference to my skin. I’m trying really hard to use up what I have before buying anything new, but with that being said, I still feel like I need to have each and every one of these toners on hand at all times. I know, maybe only a skincare addict would say something like that, but I truly feel that these would be suitable for every skin type and here’s why I would recommend them to anyone.

1. The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner $11.50 – I love tea tree oil. I know it’s an unusual scent, but it reminds me of one time I spent a summer in Maryland and would frequent a local Whole Foods all the time and walk through aisle by aisle like a kid in a candy shop. Anyway, that was the first time I discovered tea tree oil and I’ve had it in one form or another ever since. Tea tree oil is great because it’s really good at antibacterial and really helps clear up your skin if you’ve got any breakouts.

2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe Herbs and Rosewater $7 – This is probably the 4th bottle of this I’m on and I love it so much I did a full review on it here. I usually use it after I use one of these other toners to add an extra layer of moisture, or to spray over my makeup if things are starting to look too cakey or powdery. It’s really nice and affordable, so it’s a good one to have in the rotation.

3. Origins Make A Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment Lotion $23.50 – If you’ve been with me for a while, then you’ll know that the Make A Difference Plus range is my favorite from Origins and maybe my favorite bits of skincare. It’s just so soothing and moisturizing, I can’t get enough of it. Well, this toner is no exception– if I close my eyes when I swipe this over my face with cotton round, I can almost trick myself into thinking I’m at a spa– that’s how lovely it feels on my skin. As you can see, I’m almost through the whole bottle and I will definitely be picking up another one to have on hand before this one runs out.

4. Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner $18 – This is the newest addition to my toner lineup and it’s absolutely amazing. The glycolic acid works to exfoliate away dead skin cells and helps your skin to look clearer, glowing, and even helps reduce any pesky hyper-pigmentation you might have from old breakouts. This has made such a difference, that my skin looks better than ever.

Do you use a toner?

  1. I’ve tried Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner, but unfortunately it didn’t bode well with my skin… probably because I had pimples during the time I was using it and it only aggravated my face. I switched to Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion just recently, and it seems to be working well for me. I think I still kind of prefer Kiehl’s Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion, though! I might just switch back once I finish my Mario Badescu Anti-Acne kit. 🙂

    • Sorry the Glycolic Acid one didn’t work out for you — I’ve used the Cucumber lotion in the past and liked it. I never tried the Kiehl’s one, but if you think it’s good, I’ll keep it in mind to try out. x
