Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette & Swatches!

Buxom Custom Palette

Did I need a new palette? No. Am I happy I picked up the new Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette? Absofrickinloutely! I mentioned this in my Monthly Favorites: July post because I have been reaching for this pretty consistently since I added it to my collection. I also mentioned that I was going to do a dedicated post to this so here we are, everything you need to know including swatches of the shades I picked!

The Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette is one of the only customizable palettes that is easily accessible, and that you don’t have to go to a specialized store (i.e. Inglot or Mac) to get a good quality palette with the colors of your choosing. If you buy the eyeshadow bar palette and the six individual eyeshadows together, you get it for a discounted price of $40. If you buy the eyeshadows separately, they are $12 each.

There are 40 different shades that you can choose from with a range of different finishes from matte, metallic, shimmer, sparkle, duo-chrome, etc. The cool thing about these eye shadows is that they are primer infused, so if you have normal to dry skin, you don’t need to use an additional primer with these! That’s the first eyeshadow formula that I’ve come across that was primer infused so I thought that was pretty cool. I have oily eyelids however, so I still have to use a primer or these will crease and fade. That’s not unusual and shouldn’t be seen as a negative for these because I have to use an eyelid primer every single day.

As you can see, the palette has an inner row that slides out, the individual eyeshadows fit in, and then you simply slide it back it and it clicks into place. Again, I thought that was fun and different, so well done to Buxom for bringing a customizable palette to Sephora and Ulta, and for making the packaging something cool and different.

The palette itself is pretty compact, so you can easily pack this and travel with it.

Instead of choosing colors that make a complete palette, I decided to go for colors I don’t already own (mostly). I chose:

Champagne Buzz – A shimmering champagne

Famous Flirt – A matte pastel peach

Glitz Factor – A metallic pink & peachy copper

Invite Only – A matte terracotta

Jetsetter – A matte grey taupe

Patent Leather – A shimmering blackberry

I also picked up mini of an additional color, Mink Magnet (a beautiful metallic bronze) as a 100 point perk from Sephora which I’ve swatched with the rest.

I am so happy with the formula of these and the colors I picked. Glitz factor has been my favorite of the bunch, it reminds me of the limited edition NARS eyeshadow from the recent Christopher Kane Collection called “Outer Limits.” I was actually going to splurge on that one, but decided to pass on it. Anyway, I think Glitz Factor is very similar, maybe more pink and less overall glittery.

I think this is a really good deal because it’s awesome quality and the fact that it’s customizable is huge! That means that you’ll use every shade in the palette and won’t be stuck with any unloved shades like sometimes happens with other palettes.

What do you think of the new Buxom Customizable Palette?

Hope you all have a nice weekend! x

    • Thank you! Sometimes when there are a lot of options, it can make you feel like, “oh I should picked this one or went with that one…” but I’m actually 100% happy with what I chose. 😀 x
